Is epoxy worth the cost?

Epoxy flooring is 100% worth it. It is a cost-effective way to improve the appearance of your space and specifically useful in commercial and industrial settings particularly for environments that require a durable, easy-to-clean surface with resistance to chemicals, stains, and abrasion. Epoxy flooring typically offers a longer lifespan than traditional flooring applications and requires less maintenance over time. Additionally, its seamless application can contribute to a more hygienic environment, making it a practical choice for residential, commercial and industrial settings where cleanliness and durability are paramount.

How long does epoxy take to dry?

It will take approximately seven days to cure. There are variations, but while it will take seven days for epoxy to fully cure, your floor may be dry enough to walk on after 12 hours and ready for light use after around 24 hours.

Does epoxy require any special maintenance?

Epoxy floors are resistant to stains, but it’s still important to clean up spills as soon as possible. Sweep or dust mop the floor regularly to remove loose dirt, dust, and debris. This simple step helps prevent the accumulation of grit that can cause surface abrasions. Gently mop the floor using a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and warm water. Avoid using acidic or harsh chemicals, as they can dull the floors shine or potentially damage the surface. We provide full instructions on completion of all projects so you will know exactly how to keep your floor looking its best for years.

Can my furniture be placed on the epoxy?

Once it has fully cured (typically a week) you can put any furniture you desire onto it. Our epoxy floors are used in commercial and industrial spaces such as aircraft hangars, manufacturing plants and garages so furniture will be no issue at all. We do have some great tips on on how to preserve your epoxy flooring.

How long does epoxy flooring installation take?

Installation time depends on a variety of factors such as the square footage of the premise. We will be happy though to provide a free consultation where we will explain the process fully and give you an estimation on project time.

Is epoxy anti slip?

Epoxy itself doesn’t inherently possess anti-slip properties. However, anti-slip characteristics can be achieved by adding certain materials, such as aggregates like sand or grit, to the epoxy mixture before application. These additives create a textured surface, improving traction and reducing the likelihood of slips and falls. So, while epoxy alone isn’t anti-slip, it can be modified to become so.

Is epoxy durable?

Epoxy flooring is renowned for its exceptional durability, making it an ideal choice for a variety of applications. Is epoxy floor cheaper than tile?

On average, epoxy flooring and tile costs per square foot price can be quite comparable but epoxy is generally easier to install than tile, so the installation costs are usually lower.
